BB, MTB sign deal on 200m-euro for green fund


Mutual Trust Bank has recently signed a participating agreement with the Bangladesh Bank for a Green Transformation Fund of 200 million euros, said a press release.

Bangladesh Bank’s Sustainable Finance Department general manager Khondkar Morshed Millat and Mutual Trust Bank managing director and CEO Syed Mahbubur Rahman signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.

The BB has introduced a 200-million-euro Green Transformation Fund along with an existing $200-million fund to set up environment-friendly initiatives.

The GTF in euro will be admissible to all manufacturing industrial enterprises for importing environmentfriendly and energy efficient (including solar energy and renewable energy under power sector) or green capital machinery and accessories (including buyer’s credit).  — New Age
