Deputy Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Habibun Nahar here today urged all to protect biodiversity for balanced environment.
“If we fail to protect biodiversity, we would fall in danger,” she said. The deputy minister was speaking as the chief guest in a function held at Mohadebpur Upazila Parishad Auditorium on the occasion of Mujib Year this afternoon.
Mohadebpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Mizanur Rahman chaired the function. Among others, Mohd Salim Uddin Tarafder, MP, Upazila Parishad Chairman Ahosan Habib, Professor Dr Bidhan Chandra Das from Rajshahi University, Forest Officer Md Sanaullah Patwari and Chhatra League leader Toru Kumar Dev also spoke on the occasion.
Habibun Nahar said if a person initiates a good job for the country, he or she will be assisted by the government. She also suggested to save the Sundarbans.
She urged the people to plant bird friendly trees to protect the birds in the country.
